- Breakthrough Hit: "I Can See for Miles", taken from this album, turned out to be The Who's first single that did any kind of business on the pop charts in the U.S. Along with the band's appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival the year it was released, it established The Who as a major band on the other side of The Pond after several years of trying.
- Name's the Same: Younger listeners might not realize the Top Gear jingle has nothing to do with the greatest automobile magazine and TV series...in the world, but rather the 60s music radio program.
