- Acting for Two: Nearly every character on the show is played by Michael. And most of them are duplicates of Michael from other parallel universes, like his mirror counterpart, Mikesano and Maverick.
- Actor Allusion: He's done several, but takes it to the extreme when he reviewed To Kill A Mockingbird, playing with the fact that several actors in the film adaptation were also guest stars on Star Trek, like Tom Robinson being played by Brock Peters, who played Admiral Cartwright in Star Treks IV and VI, and Joseph Sisko in Deep Space Nine, saying that Tom Robinson isn't guilty of raping Mayella Ewell, but is guilty of taking part in the conspiracy against Chancellor Gorkon and of making a delicious jambalaya William Windom playing both the prosecutor in To Kill A Mockingbird, and Commodore Matt Decker in "The Doomsday Machine" and the judge being played by Paul Fix, who also played Dr. Piper in the second TOS pilot.
- Milestone Celebration: Michael reviewed a Quantum Leap book in commemoration of the first video review he made, of the Quantum Leap television series (more of a vlog) for his first anniversary of reviewing, and in March does a Doctor Who novelization because his first book review was of Doctor Who and the Auton Invasion.
- Real Song Theme Tune: The one from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1981), in fact!
