Trivia / The Deluge

Go To

  • Extremely Lengthy Creation: Befitting a four-hours long Epic Movie, it took three years to film it and it was still considered a rush job by the director. Then came the editing and post-production. Certain scenes, like the iconic duel, required extensive training from the actors and numerous practice and real takes to finally get it done, going on for weeks.
  • No Stunt Double: The only roles played by stuntmen were those of extras. This meant all the actors were put through extra training in fencing and horsemanship - despite Polish acting schools at the time having regular classes in those things anyway. Not only did this pay off in authenticity, but when a few accidents happened during production, the actors also knew how to handle horses, saving either themselves, or the poor animals, from any harm.
