Trivia / The Debbie and Carrie Show

Go To

  • Early-Installment Weirdness: The "pilot" episode of the show wasn't even thought of as the first episode of a series, later episodes were intended to flesh out the characters mentioned in the pilot, then Dale Husband decided to make a full blown series and it was only about ten episodes in that the show's official title was made for it to tie the series together. Then Husband became addicted to using Plotagon and over the next 2 1/2 years, he ended up making a whopping SIX HUNDRED EPISODES of content.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Dale Husband began working on the series after learning of the YouTube user Owen Morgan AKA TellTale, whose daughter was attending a class run by a health teacher who was a Christian fanatic. Morgan and his daughter were soon driven to leave the Town they were in. The point of the Debbie and Carrie Show was to show how that could have been avoided, with the Central Characters choosing to stay and fight the bigotry that Morgan and his daughter ran from.
    • Also, an episode showing Debbie breaking up with a love partner was inspired by writer Dale Husband having just broken up with his own love partner in real life. The episode's title even featured a Pun: "Breaking Up is Hell to Do".
    • A terrorist group named the Faithful Remnant formed a militia to attack Austin, the capital of Texas, as a prelude to starting a second American civil war. This was directly inspired by the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol building in Washington D C.

  • Artistic License – Geography: Episodes featuring a summer camp outside the Town show it in the middle of a forest, since forested areas are represented in Plotagon scenes. But the Town is in the eastern part of Texas, which is mostly grassland.
  • Artistic License – Medicine: Doctors performing surgery in real life are usually expected to wear surgical masks to protect patients from infection from their germs. But in Plotagon, it is not possible to put such masks on characters and thus when working in operating rooms, they are shown unmasked.
  • No Smoking: Plotagon actually doesn't have any means of showing characters smoking or even holding cigarettes in their mouths or hands, but even if it did, Dale Husband never wanted to show any characters, even the worst villains, as smokers.
