• What Could Have Been: The comic had heavy interest from both DC and Marvel, but Evanier and Meugniot chose to instead do it themselves (as to keep the TV and merchandising rights). They went with Eclipse Comics because of the creative freedom Eclipse allowed. (As for the cartoon, Meugniot tried pitching an adaptation to CBS around 1990, but nothing ever came of it.)
