• Acting for Two: George Lowe voices Dad and Space Ghost in the episode when Space Ghost visits.
• Non-Singing Voice: Played for laughs in Psychoklahoma in which Zorak is revealed to have a beautiful, boy band-like singing voice that is totally unlike his normal voice.
• The Other Darrin: Mom was voiced by Marsha Crenshaw in season 1 and early Season 2 and later voiced by Joanna Daniel from season 2 onwards. Lampshaded when both Moms appear as penguins in the finale, arguing over who was the better one.
• Throw It In!: Dad was originally meant to be of average height. A mistake when compositing a scene made him much smaller than everything else around him, and it was just deemed funnier to have him be comically tiny compared to nearly every other character in the show.
• What Could Have Been: At one time the series was in development for Cartoon Network, instead of Adult Swim.
  • The crew also considered expanding on the variety show format before the idea to make it a sitcom.
