• Acting for Two: Cousin Mortimer and Bingo were played by the same actor.
• The Danza: Basil's sidekicks in the original series. Averted with Mr Stephen.
• Missing Episode: A large fraction of the 1968-80 series is lost to history; almost nothing remains of Rodney Bewes' tenure as Basil's stooge, and most of Derek Fowlds' first series on the show was wiped after broadcast.
