Trivia / The Adventures of Lomax

  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The game hasn't seen any re-releases after its original release in 1996 (1997 in Japan). This is rather problematic should you desire to play the game on original hardware, as the game has become quite rare, usually selling on eBay for at least $100.
  • What Could Have Been: An interview with Henk Nieborg conducted by Sega-16 revealed a couple of tidbits about the development of The Adventures of Lomax:
    • The game originally started development on the Mega Drive, with Henk creating sprites for Lemmings running around and jumping. The decision to move to PlayStation was due to the Mega Drive's increasing obsolescence among publishers.
    • The Adventures of Lomax was intended to be a bigger project than what it turned out to be, with an animated TV show planned to release alongside the game (Lomax was said to be one of eight characters planned for both the game and show). However, the project was shortened due to Henk claiming that "we probably didn’t deliver what the marketing department had in mind."
