Trivia / Suika Game

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: The game was just a small name Japanese-only Nintendo Switch puzzle game until hololive streamers started playing it, leading it to explode in popularity. The popularity managed to get people to use Japanese accounts so they could buy it online. It also led to clones, including multiple hololive-themed ones. The ensuing popularity got Aladdin X to release the game on English markets, although initially only in Japanese — though it did get an English translation just 4 days later.
  • Fan-Work Ban: Aladdin X enforced a "clip ban" of the game, which seemed to delete anything which involved recorded footage of streams getting banned. Fortunately this ban was met with outcry and it ended up being reversed.
  • Follow the Leader: Several fanmade clones have been made of the game, including a hololive-themed one (can be played online, also grew popular after the aforementioned Fan-Work Ban from above), Pebble Jame, a Koseki Bijou themed one (with variations to the layout, and can either be played online or downloaded), and other odd and interesting clones. It also helped that a lot of these clones were made before the official English release and translation of the game.
  • Late Export for You: The game was released only in Japan in 2021, but in 2023, its spike in popularity caused by big-name Virtual YouTubers streaming it led to an international release.
