• Deleted Scene:
  • The original script featured a scene after the teaser in which Picard and Riker have a discussion and Riker reveals that Worf had been getting sloppy in his work. This makes Picard's actions in the following scene make a lot more sense. The edit instead has Riker saying that Worf is never late, giving no indication that he's been anything but a model officer otherwise, catching him caught up in a Klingon ceremony and then Picard yelling at him and telling him he needs to perform his duties like a Starfleet Officer.
  • The script also included scenes set on the Enterprise as the crew discuss the appearance of Kahless before he and Worf come on board the ship, and Kahless's arrival on the Enterprise as he greets Picard as an honourable leader based on Worf's tales.
• Scully Box: Kahless is played by 5'6" actor Kevin Conway, who's wearing very noticeable and quite large platform boots (in the Ace Frehley fashion). Even with their benefit, he's noticeably shorter than most of the other Klingons (this actually makes a kind of in-universe sense; Kahless is from the Klingon equivalent of the middle ages, and on Earth, at least, the average height at the time was considerably less than it is today).
