• Executive Meddling: The game was discontinued entirely for corporate reasons - namely, Lorraine Williams (head of TSR) wanted to launch Buck Rogers XXVC and saw Star Frontiers as competition for that. Part of the reason for this was because she was also the owner of the Buck Rogers franchise, which meant more royalties for her when TSR used that license.
