- Box Office Bomb: Going by current numbers, the main source of revenue for the film are school trips.
- Troubled Production: The movie was first intended to be released in April 2014, on the 4th anniversary of the Smolensk crash. The first finished version of "Smolensk" was shown to a closed audience in October 2015, which prompted moving the release date to March 2016. The movie finally premiered in September 2016. The fact it had an aura of political scandal and is (somewhat rightfully) accused as being Propaganda Piece didn't help either.
