- Outdated by Canon: Once "Escaping Expulsion" aired, the author declared the series as this due to Alador's canon personality contrasting how he is here. Sadly, this trope as a whole is why the author chose to end the series and focus on a new one.
- Refitted for Sequel: Dialouge from the original second story, "New Family", was reused in Losing Yourself.
- Schedule Slip: Each chapter of Losing Yourself is released at least a month apart. Until the final one, which took 2 months.
- What Could Have Been: The series was originally a trilogy, with the second story being called "New Family" and was meant to focus on the Blight siblings adjusting to living in the Owl House as well as having "Lumity fluff". The story was scrapped when the author couldn't figure out where to take it.
