Trivia / Red vs. Blue: Restoration

• Reality Subtext: The film’s status as a Grand Finale is made more impactful given that this was Rooster Teeth’s final project overall before closing up for good, with the film releasing a week prior the website’s shutdown.
• Role Reprise: After departing ways with Rooster Teeth and seemingly leaving the role after Season 13, Kathleen Zuelch returned to voice Texas one last time for the final act, giving her and Burnie a proper send-off from the franchise.
• Swan Song: Restoration overall is Rooster Teeth’s final project to be released before its closure announced in March of 2024 to May, though its other Cash-Cow Franchise, RWBY, will live on, as that IP is set to be sold to another company.
• What Could Have Been:
  • When it was first announced back in August 2023, Restoration was billed as the final season and was set to release sometime in Fall later that year. For undisclosed reasons, Restoration became a feature-length film and was pushed back to May 7, 2024. This is possibly due to the fact Rooster Teeth was shut down mid-production, forcing them to condense the season into a film.
  • According to Burnie Burns in his podcast, Morning Somewhere, Restoration was written in late 2022/early 2023 and completed in full by July 2023 before getting pushed back multiple times. It is unknown exactly why it was pushed back from its original Fall 2023 release date.
