• God-Created Canon Foreigner: Seeing that Yu Godai was the original writer for Digital Devil Saga, Canis Volk, Zaphir, Granato and Kei Minase count as this.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: While English translations for the first two books do exist, they have long been out of print, used copies almost never show up online and when they do, they tend to go for triple or even four digit prices. On top of that, the publishing company responsible for the translations has shut down.
• No Export for You: Trying to obtain the books anywhere out of Japan or an English speaking country is nigh-impossible.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The Novels. This novel series was supposed to be the original scenario for the Digital Devil Saga duology. However, Yu Godai's health problems forced her to leave the development team, making Tadashi Satomi to complete the plot on his own based on her notes.
  • Gale was not originally supposed to be in the novels; he was only inserted in the games to speak the lines that Serph was originally supposed to have (but couldn't due to the SMT Silent Protagonist policy). However, Gale was inserted in the final product, and given his own character arc.
