- Missing Episode: The one color episode, the Christmas 1958 presentation of The Nutcracker, only survived as a black-and-white kinescope for a long time. A full version of the color broadcast was finally uploaded in 2021.
- Playing Against Type: Ed Wynn, previously known only for comedic roles, tried doing a dramatic performance in Requiem for a Heavyweight. He flubbed his lines repeatedly during rehersals to the point where the network wanted to fire him (star Jack Palance stopped that by threatening to walk) but he managed to turn out a highly praised, heartfelt performance for the actual live broadcast.
