• Freeze-Frame Bonus: A recurring joke is that we never learn Dad's actual name. In one early episode, however, he can be seen wearing a personalized jacket with small embroidered lettering that reads "Coach Russ". (It should be noted that this was probably unintentional.)
• In Memoriam: The 2019 season Steelers’ videos were dedicated to Curt Wootton’s late father Keith, who had passed away several months prior. Doubles as a Heartwarming moment, as Keith Wootton was the main inspiration for the Pittsburgh Dad character.
• Inspiration for the Work: According to Chris Preksta, the idea for the series started with Curt Wootton doing impersonations of his father during lunch breaks while the two were filming episodes of their previous web series, The Mercury Men.
• No Budget: The show is shot using an iPhone, and the wardrobe comes from a thrift store.
• Recycled Script: Much of Dad's dialogue from the episode "Dad's Lecture About First Date" would later be reused for "Street Light Stories", only with Mandy present on screen to answer his questions.
