Trivia / Pacific: World War II U.S. Navy Shipgirls

Go To

  • Disowned Adaptation: In contrast to their reception of her KanColle counterpart, Pacific's take on Iowa was largely scorned by her former crew for her more proper, "dour" demeanor not fitting the spirit of the battleship.
  • Follow the Leader: Several of Pacific's ship girls make appearances in other Kancolle-related fanworks. In other cases, the Kancolle fics in question are largely based on or inspired by it.
    • Some aspects and elements of Pacific make an appearance in the fanfic The Greatest Generation.
      • Expy: Yvonne Swanson, one of the main protagonists of the fic, is clearly one for Pacific's Enterprise, in that she has elements of the original and the semi-official remodeled version, as well as having a very similar personality to boot.
    • Arizona and Iowa make appearances in Kant-O-Celle Quest.
    • In Belated Battleships, several characters comment that New Jersey used to wear a ball gown like her depiction here. Jersey herself looks back on her "ball gown phase" with embarrassment and horror, and shouts the speaker down any time they bring it up.
    • USS Langley is mentioned and killed offscreen in For Earth And Her Colonies. Several other shipgirls including Saratoga, Enterprise, and Yorktown are also part of the story, but are the author's original designs rather than taken wholesale from Pacific like Langley is.
  • Schedule Slip: The last project published was a special based on the 2016 US election. Silent Service is still unfinished years after it was said to be nearly completed illustrated on the website back in 2017, and the proper third volume that was supposedly "about halfway" done at that time is nowhere to be seen.
  • What Could Have Been: Action Report features a lot of stuff that didn't make it to the final version of Pacific. One of the more notable examples is Phoenix having a gas mask in her original depiction.
  • Word of God: This work is heavily reliant on it. The backstory and lore, if you want to find out, is incredibly detailed, to say the least.
