• Channel Hop: For the US release of this album, Genesis parted ways with Impulse! Records (the circumstances of which are still hazy) and switched to having their UK label, Charisma Records, distribute them west of the Atlantic as well, an arrangement that would last for the next few albums.
• Working Title: "The Musical Box" was originally put together as a demo by Anthony Phillips and Mike Rutherford titled "F♯". A different rendition, recorded for a never-released BBC documentary prior to Phillips' departure, was titled "Manipulation".
