- Blooper: Nintendo of Japan accidentally advertised Battle League as a Mario Kart game in a promotional e-mail.
- Late Export for You: Charged released in South Korea in 2010, three years after the rest of the world.
- The Other Darrin: In the original game, Peach was voiced by Nicole Mills instead of Jen Taylor, due to the latter retiring from her Mario-related roles that year. Starting with Charged, she's voiced by Samantha Kelly.
- Overlapping with The Original Darrin, Bowser was voiced by Kenny James in the original game and by Scott Burns in Charged. James would return to the role in Battle League.
- Toad was voiced in the first two games by Kelsey Hutchinson rather than Jen Taylor, before eventually being voiced by Samantha Kelly in Battle League similar to Peach.
- Sequel Gap: 15 years passed between the releases of Charged and Battle League.
- What Could Have Been: When Nintendo approached Next Level Games about creating a Mario soccer game, their first prototype was a mesh of soccer and Platform Game that Nintendo immediately rejected for being too much of a whimsical platformer and barely resembling a sports game at all.
