• Banned in China: This is one of the anime series that got the banhammer on Russia after the government's media watchdog Roskomnadzor decided to ban Crunchyroll after they discovered they didn't rate their series properly.
• What Could Have Been: In the afterword manga for volume 12, Sakuya Amano reveals the continuation of Konohana-tei Kitan nearly got published a Shōnen Demographic magazine in 2012. However, the changes requested by the editor she spoke with—namely turning the work into a Harem Genre manga with a male main character—were soundly rejected by her, and thus the manga wouldn't be published until nearly three years later at different company. The work she already put into the male lead, though, was retooled into the "Great Spirit of the Paintbrush" who first appeared in volume 4 and featured prominently in volumes 11 and 12.
• Word of Gay: The author stated in the manga extras that Kiri and Sakura are secretly dating each other. Certain scenes in the manga and anime support the author's word.
