Trivia / Jurassic Park (Arcade)

Go To

  • Christmas Rushed: The Lost World had a tight development deadline so it could be released in close proximity to the movie it was based on, resulting in a lot of planned content being cut. Despite this, the game is still considered to be one of the best light gun games of the 1990s, if not one of the best light gun games ever made.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The Updated Re-release of The Lost World, which features new rearranged levels along with a Final Boss that recreates the climax in San Diego from the movie, is lost media, with the only evidence of its existence being photos of its arcade machine, an official interview that outlines the differences between it and the vanilla game, and several eyewitness accounts of its gameplay.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • For The Lost World, the single player and two player modes were originally planned to have completely different levels and dinosaurs from one another, which eventually turned into both modes having the exact same campaign due to time constraints.
    • A cancelled port of The Lost World for the Sega Dreamcast would've featured larger levels than the arcade version.
    • The boss of stage 2 of The Lost World was originally supposed to be against a Plesiosaur, but this was changed to be a Deinosuchus in the final game.
    • Jurassic Park: Arcade from 2015 was originally supposed to feature a boss fight against a Giant Spider, with the idea reaching the concept art stage until it was scrapped. The only remnants of it in the final game are several spider enemies that Zerg Rush the player and also several giant egg obstacles that were supposed to belong to said boss.
