Trivia / Hussite Trilogy

• Box Office Bomb: Initially played straight. The first book of the series was still perfectly marketable under "written by Andrzej Sapkowski, of The Witcher fame...". Since the new series didn't became a smashing hit on its own, by the final book it was even hard to properly market it outside hardcore Sapkowski's fandom. If not for the re-emerged popularity of The Witcher caused by video games and thus all things written by Sapkowski, the Hussite trilogy might have ended up completely forgotten.
• No Export for You:
  • The trilogy has been translated into German, Spanish, French, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainian, Russian... but even in 2015, there's no English translation in sight. Ultimately defied as by October 25 2022, all 3 of the Hussite Trilogy books will finally have an English translated release. Probably in part thanks to The Witcher series getting the translation treatment, and subsequent interest in Sapkowski's other works.
  • The fully-cast audiobook adaptation of the series also exists only in Polish (though that's rather understandable, given all the work that involves).
