• Creator Couple: The woman who walks through the movie set shouting "Oscar!" is Chic Johnson's wife Catherine.

  • The writing staff of Animaniacs was shown Hellzapoppin' during its pre-production phase to get a sense of the comedic tone wanted for the show and the influence is pretty obvious, with the "Would someone please stop that woman from yelling 'Oscar'!" gag borrowed and slightly altered in the "Sir Yaksalot" sketch.
  • Mel Brooks also obviously took some influence from the film, and there's even a character in Blazing Saddles named Olsen Johnson.
