• No Export for You: Neither of the games have ever been made available outside of Japan.
• Urban Legend of Zelda: Two myths that have repeated about the games are claims that the developers were former Sega employees and that some Virtua Fighter characters were hidden fighters in one of the games; These are both false. The developers were high ranking players who had won Virtua Fighter tournaments in the past, though in an amusing development these individuals would eventually brought on by Sega for the development of Virtua Fighter 4, and thus were Virtua Fighter developers themselves, but only after having made Goiken Muyou. While the first game does have unlockable characters, they were not guest characters from Virtua Fighter but rather characters who simply had the play styles of some of Virtua Fighters' cast.
