Trivia / Elancia Chronicles

Go To

  • Crossover Cameo: Because the author contributed heavily to the game's soundtrack, Verse makes a cameo appearance in Freedom Planet 2 as a travelling musician in the game's Shang Tu and Parusa areas. Her design there is notably different to in Elancia, as she wears a completely different outfit to anything seen in the books, and her fur is pink, instead of purple.
  • Extremely Lengthy Creation: Work on the series started around 2008, but the first book wasn't published until 11 years later in 2019.
  • Mid-Development Genre Shift: Elancia Chronicles was originally envisioned as a Role-Playing Game, but this didn't work out, and genre-shifted to literature early on due to the author not having the necessary skills to develop a video game. A remnant of this era of the series' history can be seen in the thumbnail of this song from the soundtrack, which has sprite art of Verse.
  • Officially Shortened Title: The series used to be called "Elancia Chronicles: Order of New Gods", but was shortened to just "Elancia Chronicles".
  • What Could Have Been: An old concept art for General Charlemagne "Chaz" Errylon reveals that her full name used to be "General Charlemagne "Chaz" Ashley Arylon".
  • Write Who You Know: The Author has stated in an interview that the five main characters from Shifting Tides (Verse and Cecelia especially) personalities are based on herself, with Verse being representative of depression and anxiety, and Cecelia's social awkwardness being representative of herself when she was younger.
