• Newbie Boom: On January 2014, Mervin opened up the community to allow anyone to participate. The number of new members doubled in a week.
• Schedule Slip: As this doesn't exactly pay the bills and the sporkers have their own things going on, not everyone updates on time all the time. Some are usually good about a once-a-week schedule, though. Also, as of 2020, the sporkers aren't the ones who decide when their posts are posted- they submit something, the moderators will accept or deny it. As a result, one can submit a post and it won't be posted for weeks, with the poster having no say as to when.
• Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: After the comm was changed from "moderated" to "open", a number of vicious fights and arguments started breaking out in the comments sections. Three months later, the comm was locked again.
  • In-universe, Astra repeatedly invoked this trope in the Ship It spork, pointing out that Claire's behaviour (stalking the producer of the show she's a fan of, writing RPF of the two lead actors after getting to know them both and holding the producer's Twitter account hostage to get him to talk to her, among other things) is exactly the kind of behaviour that gives fans a bad name.
