• Creator's OddBall: The cartoon is this for CTV. While most of the original shows they've aired are live action fare, this is one of the very few original cartoons they've ever financed.
• The Danza: Rod Black as Rod Blackbird.
• Inspiration for the Work: The series was apparently inspired by the baseball stories of Canadian writer W.P. Kinsella, as well as creator Blair Peter's love of sports.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: The second season of the show was never released on DVD and is very hard to find. There used to be episodes on of it on YouTube (albeit in Czech) but they've since been removed.
