• Trolling Creator: Borba continues showing delight in trolling the conflict he created and still has a reluctance to openly discuss any reasonable critical analysis of the story.
  • On 11/25/18, he posted a journal entry on his DeviantArt page called "About My Zootopia fancomics" where he basically says "I draw what I like, if you don't like it, then just don't read it". Being an opinion piece and since he generally avoids discussing his stories, it attracted a number of Zootopia fans who felt they finally had a venue for thoughtful critique and wrote some insightful and objective comments pointing out how they could see what Borba was doing but offered constructive criticism on how he was presenting Nick & Judy in IWS/BTBA. However, on 12/11/18, Borba posted "How to Lure Starving Fishes" where he reveals the previous entry was troll bait and mocks all those who responded and implies that he has no interest if they disagree with his approach to story-telling and feel the need to comment about it.
  • Shay's physical appearance is directly based on the one image by Byron Howard that the Zootopia fandom has collectively adopted as the character "Skye". Borba even presents her in the comic as a mechanic wearing the same outfit but vehemently denies that it's intended to be Skye. He points out that the scribble on her toolbox is illegible and that "Skye" is a name made up by the fandom. While his observations are correct, it's been noted that "Shay" has essentially no personality, character development or back-story so Borba could have literally drawn any vixen for his story and "Shay" is suspiciously similar to "Skye". This makes some readers feel that Borba choose that specific vixen image to further troll the fandom.
