• Creator's Favorite:
  • Greg Weisman, showrunner of Young Justice (2010), has stated she was his favourite comic book character, which is why she got such a big role as the team's combat trainer and mentor, and why she drops by to pull a Big Damn Heroes moment at the end of Weisman's early Green Arrow short.
  • Though she's alternated between claiming this of Dinah and Barbara, Gail Simone has often stated Dinah is her absolute favourite character, and she's always up for writing anything to do with her. Unsurprisingly, Dinah tends to show up quite a bit whenever Gail is writing any other DC character.
• Creator's Pest: Contrary to Weisman, Judd Winnick was not a fan of her character, and resented having to write her in Green Arrow/Black Canary, which he took out on her by writing her as a Faux Action Girl and constant source of annoyance. Andrew Kreisberg was also not a fan of her character, which became clear both when he took over the book, and later when he adapted Arrow and reinvented Black Canary as a civilian love interest for Green Arrow, who is then turned into a drug addict and alcoholic.
