Trivia / Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear

• Role Reprise:
  • Virtually all of the original Baldur's Gate cast return for their respective characters here. This took a lot of work for the casting director, who was determined to secure all the original voice actors even though some of them no longer worked in the industry, meaning they were coaxed out of retirement just for this expansion. The lone exception is Jaheira, as Beamdog was unable to get Heidi Shannon to come back.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Beamdog originally wanted to create an expansion that would take place after Throne of Bhaal, effectively making a Post-Script Season to the series. Budget limitations (and probably concerns about the finality of Throne of Bhaal's ending) scuttled these plans in favor of an Interquel expansion set between the first and second game.
  • Unused scripting exists for an extended ending that would have provided a more direct lead into Baldur's Gate 2. Some mods (including trilogy mods that tie all the games together into one continuous experience) restore this content.
  • Beamdog originally brought in a new voice actor for Jaheira to record new lines for the expansion due to difficulties getting Heidi Shannon to come back, but deemed the change in actors too jarring and left her new lines unvoiced in the final product.
