• Creator Backlash: Anders Björler has gone on to say that he doesn't like The Red in the Sky Is Ours very much, stating that the band was trying "too hard" to make a good first impression on people and that it came off too weird compared to their other material.
• Follow the Leader: Name a melodeath or metalcore band that came after Slaughter of the Soul. They will almost definitely have tried to "expand upon the legacy of the album".
• He Also Did: Tomas remained active in the death metal scene during virtually the entirety of their first breakup, and continues to sing in other projects today. He has performed in the grindcore/deathgrind supergroup Lock Up since 2002 (though he briefly left for a few years in 2014 before returning) and launched the Lovecraft-themed death metal band The Lurking Fear in the 2010s. He also had brief stints with fellow melodeath bands The Crown and Nightrage, and lends his voice to Sign of Cain, an underground Israeli death/doom band. He also was active in the hardcore punk scene for a brief time, singing with the bands Skitsystem, Disfear, and The Great Deceiver.
• Spiritual Successor: They have one in The Haunted, a band formed by the Bjorler brothers and Adrian Erlandsson that started out playing a similar style of melodeath before it took a melodic metalcore-oriented turn, but returned to their roots upon Marco Aro's return.
