• Cast the Expert: In "The Starling", the conjurer Carmine is played by Gérard Majax, a real-life French conjurer.
• The Other Darrin: Bachert was played in the pilot by Daniel Njo Lobe and in the production seasons by Jean-Louis Garcon. It's particularly noticeable as Lobe played the part with a beard, but Garcon is clean-shaven, slimmer, and is generally more well-groomed.
• Playing Their Own Twin: Flashback sequences showing Mathilde as a younger woman have her played by Sara Mortensen with different hair and makeup.
• Real-Life Relative: Astrid's mother Mathilde is played by Elisabeth Mortensen, the real-life mother of Sara Mortensen who plays Astrid.
