• Fandom Nod: After Sam Wilson rescues a family from a car that was knocked off a bridge, in the panel where he gets his shield back a man standing off to the side can be seen saying "Not my Captain America", a woman, seemingly his wife, standing beside him tells him "Don't be a jerk, Augie".
  • This is also a Call-Back to Captain America: Sam Wilson #1, when Sam expresses his political viewpoints during a press conference. This led to a lot of bad press for him.
• What Could Have Been: In 2020, Rick Remender revealed that he, not Waid, was originally going to relaunch the Avengers following Secret Wars. Remender and Jerome Opeña's 2015 OGN Rage of Ultron was intended to serve as a prelude and set up plot points. Ultimately, however, Remender exited Marvel with Secret Wars and these plans fell through.
