- While everyone has accepted Tadashi's passing, some of them are still working their way through the grieving process. Most notably, Honey Lemon has been working around the clock in either the lab, the coffee shop, or as a superhero so she doesn't have to think about her feelings.
- While he definitely deserved it, it's hard not to feel bad for Callaghan when Abigail severs ties with him.
- How Honey Lemon reacts to Baymax's malfunctioning emotions chip.
- Oh's concern about what happened to his people. While the reader quickly learns that they're fine, Oh hasn't seen another Boov in months, and has no idea what might have happened to them.
- Mirage's origin story. While it bares a lot of resemblance to Evelyn Devor's origin story in the Incredibles sequel, it's still undeniably sad.
- Megamind is still feels guilty for the Titan Incident. He considers it his greatest failure, and becomes uncharacteristically somber whenever it's brought up.
- Honey Lemon rejecting Susan after the fight in the club.
- Bob seeing Metro Man, or Wayne, for the first time in twenty years after believing he was dead...and quickly realizing that he faked his death and turned his back on Metro City so he could become a bad singer.
- The sheer beating that the Big Hero 9 gets from the Syndicate when they come to stop the prison break. Most of them end up traumatized from the fight, and might have died had Stan not called in the AVL's reinforcements.
- Hiro being torn between fixing Baymax (for the second time in six months) and checking on his team.
- Cass, Bill, Jill, and Lucy reuniting with their kids after the fight, and how horrified they are that this happened.
- Riley's trauma after getting mind raped by Mezzmerella.
- Poor Margo has been having Catapult Nightmares for who knows how long about her parents being killed by Titan.
- Tip's angst after almost getting choked to death. She confesses to Riley that she feels like a liability to the team, as she doesn't have any powers, fighting skills, or high IQ to help her in a fight if she gets pulled from the van.
- The fact that, evidently, Margo, Edith, and Agnes have been dealing with regular bullying for a while.
- Hiro's reaction to almost losing more people he cared about, and how he's worried that he's going to become like Callaghan or Dr. Nefario.
- Susan admitting how hurt she is that Honey won't talk to her, and Dr. Cockroach's story about his lost lover.
- Dr. Nefario's past, especially the fact that he lost his son to Xerek.
- Wasabi and GoGo each having angst about their losing to El Macho and Rollergrl respectively. Wasabi tells Takahito that he knew he could have won against El Macho, but hesitated before he could deal a killing blow. GoGo, while less open, discusses her frustration with Elastigirl.
- Lucy confessing to Gru that Scarlet Overkill killed her parents.
- Bob's and Helen's superhero origin stories are a bit darker than one would expect, and they both clearly have a little trauma over it (especially Helen, who admits that the event that gave her powers was incredibly painful).
- Jack-Jack getting abducted, and how everyone reacts.
- While Vector was a jerk, his death by suffocation on the moon is saddening to hear, especially given how clearly devastated his father is.
- Fred sacrificing himself to save the rest of the infiltration team, knowing there's a chance he'll never see his friends, parents, or girlfriend again. Violet's reaction is heartbreaking.
