    • Zhenhuan ends up being forced to personally execute Yunli herself, and she doesn’t even have any time to come up with a plan as the guards directly escort her from her palace to Yunli’s house. They chat and reminisce about their past, but Zhenhuan discovers that Yunli drank the poisoned cup deliberately when she poured it for herself, and he apologizes and says goodbye one last time.

Everyone else who are already at the funeral are not allowed to cry loudly or grieve for Yunli, and Su Peisheng is forced to slap a hand on the mouth of Yunli’s son who is crying for his father so the Emperor won’t get mad. Huanbi, however, loses her mind from grief and runs up to Yunli’s coffin to slam her head on it to join him in the afterlife. So not only did Zhenhuan lose her beloved, and now her sister, but Yunli’s son is now officially an orphan.
