- Samuel's "I Know You Are in There Somewhere" Fight with Babadook!Amelia. Keep in mind that by this point, she hasn't just tried to kill him...she's gone full on Abusive Parent and struck hard at every fear and insecurity he has. He's fully justified in running like hell. He doesn't.Sam: I know you don't love me, the Babadook won't let you. But I love you, Mum. And I always will.
- The overall atmosphere of the film is terrible, so saddening and broken, obviously to symbolize how unstable Amelia and Sam are, especially Amelia following Oskar's death.
- There's also the fact that it seems that everyone except for Mrs. Roach (and Robbie in the beginning) seems to get on her's and Sam's case, simply because of how unstable they are. Instead of trying to help them, they treat them like garbage...
- When the Babadook reruns Oskar's graphic death to Amelia, she has an utter breakdown and it's completely understandable why. Talk about cruelty...
- Poor Bugsy...
- Unlike other monster movies where the monster is killed off or exiled away for good, the Babadook is still there. It can be coaxed to calm down and sated with fresh worms, but it'll never go away and can never be destroyed or killed off, only dealt with.
