- Nishi's inability to come forward about his feelings to Myon.
- After killing Atsu, Aniki laments at what he's become as well as the fact he missed his chance to run off with Myon's mother like he promised. Thankfully, he actually did get to run off with her after realizing he dreamt everything that happened."Aniki": If only I had one of those magic time belts, turn it back...
- The dejected appearance of the trio stuck in the whale after they realize they cannot escape so easily...to rub salt in the wounds, they're listening to a radio describing how beautiful it is outside while it's pitch-black and cold inside.
- The fact that the entire movie takes place in Aniki's head sans for the train station chase, means that all the character development seen between Nishi, Myon, Yan and Ji-san pretty much never happened...and given that no actual conclusion of where they ended up in life is truly shown, they very well may not have ever overcome their internal struggles...and even if it was real, they'd still be hunted down by the Yakuza because of Nishi killing Atsu when he was brought back to life.
- Aniki being abandoned by Myon's/Yan's mother in a disco club because of a womanizer...you can't help but feel bad for the Aniki and the mother, especially since the womanizer is responsible for harassment she and her daughters are facing from the Yakuza. It's bad enough she was cheated on, but to have to worry about gangsters shaking her and her daughters down because of something her ex did is salt in the wounds.
