Tear Jerker / Fate Revelation Online

• Early on, Shirou rescues a player trying to commit suicide. The player thanks Shirou earnestly... and then the second Shirou's back is turned, jumps to his death anyway.
• Ilya drags Hexi out without explanation, then proceeds to curb-stomp the 5th Floor Boss and let him get the Last Attack. Then she drops the bombshell that his friends died to this boss.
  "Itagaki and One Snow went to zero HP against this Boss." Ilya said. She didn't couch it in sympathy or put much emotion into it.
  The hammer fell from his fingers and hit the ground with a sharp sound. He stumbled back. His fingertips were trembling. His vision swam, the dark cavern wavering as a tremendous sensation of vertigo dragged at him.
  "No." He whispered. It was a futile denial. He didn't need her to say anything more. It was something he denied because he simply didn't want it to be true, not because he believed it was false.
  He was on his knees. He didn't know how. He reached up, and wrapped his arms around himself, clutching his own shoulders, staring downwards. He sobbed.
  Ilya raised a hand with a hesitant gesture, but he barely noticed. She let it drop down to her side, standing awkwardly.
  He struggled, biting his lip underneath his mask, trying to crush down what was welling up inside him.
  But he couldn't deny it. So he cried.
• Bel is one of the children trapped in the game. In real life, his dad is missing, but in the game he latched onto a man named Harper, who hummed and whistled a lot. He always checked in on Bel in the morning and said goodnight to him in the evening. Then Harper and their third party member died, leaving Bel alone. Bel hasn't left the Safe Zone since. Until the Pied Piper demon shows up, implied to be Harper trapped in the demon shell, and draws him out of the Safe Zone.
• Oh, and a large part of the reason Bel was in enough of a bad mood to be drawn out of the Safe Zone was that Ilya was a total bitch to him. His full player name is [Berserker], the name she wanted. So when he gets the attention of the Front Line by inventing an interesting new spell, she takes the time to tear apart what he's done and explain that it's nothing like what he said it was (without mentioning that it is a genuinely impressive spell, he just got the terminology wrong).
