Given the Saccharine appearance of this webcomic, one would be forgiven for not thinking anything too bad would happen to any of these characters. Unfortunately, this is just not the case.

  • Speedy learning that Pudding is dating Clone (which serves as the page image) is the first real emotional punch the comic has to offer, and it's delivered fairly well. Imagine getting to know someone over the course of a few days/weeks/months, only to find them dating someone you don't even know. To make matters worse, this was Clone's introduction; prior to this, he had only been referenced by Frisky.
    • The chapter immediately following this has Pudding and Clone kiss, while Speedy is left feeling angry in Frisky's castle.
      • As was revealed in The Ball, Speedy saw them kiss. Ouch.
    • Anything involving Speedy and Pudding qualifies. Special mention goes to Adventure, in which Speedy travels to Time Mountain just to stop Pudding and Clone from getting their souls bound together for eternity, only for him to begrudgingly accept their relationship... and then awaken a millennia-old Demon.
  • The ending of "The Wonderful:" Speedy says he doesn't want to wake up because, if he does, and Pudding isn't real, their dream will be meaningless. Pudding then reveals that she feels the same way. Speedy then asks if she could ever see him as more than a friend, to which she replies, "Never give up." Then the Demon knocks her out of the hot-air balloon, causing her to wake up.
  • It's heavily implied that Hurricane is homeless.
  • "Alone." "I'm sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just don't want to be alone." Speedy is crying as he says this.
    • Almost immediately turns into a Heartwarming Moment, as most of the main cast proceeds to put Speedy at the center of a group hug.
    • Also, the second page of the chapter (page 239 of the comic) is titled "In Loving Memory." The author proceeds to pay his respects to Satoru Iwata in the comments.
  • "The Ball:"
    • Speedy's original plan for the ball was to stay at home because he didn't want to see Pudding and Clone being romantic towards each other. Of course, when he joins Mi on the roof of Frisky's castle, he's forced to watch anyway.
    • The Demon has control over Pudding's body. Everything Mi, Audrey, Danny, and Pudding did up to that point was all for naught.
    • The Demon gets one near the end of the chapter. Their backstory is finally revealed: they've been stuck in Time Mountain, and Audrey's family has been responsible for keeping them at bay. When the "Binding of Souls" ritual failed, they were released, and the Demon possessed Pudding because she looked like one of the Angels who imprisoned them. Now that everyone who initially sealed them inside Time Mountain has died, they are ready to die. Not only that, the time they spent imprisoned and in Pudding's body caused them to develop emotions, and they think they've failed as a monster. Meanwhile, Pudding is desperately trying to convince the Demon to stay.
The Demon: Dying is like sleeping for monsters, Pudding. I'm tired.
  • The final pages of "The Ball" became this after the author revealed that he would be discontinuing the comic and replacing it with an updated version to better fit the overall canon of Hetrea.
