Tear Jerker / Bush Whacked

• When Max slyly tells the scout troop of his situation in a game of “would you rather”, he asks them if they’d do what he did. The kids, not knowing he’s actually talking about himself in this scenario, say that only a complete idiot would fall for such a scam. Max looks utterly dejected at this.
  • One can only wonder how the troop felt after the truth came out.

• Upon being apprehended by Agent Palmer, who’s revealed to be a Dirty Cop , and Bragdon , the latter orders the former to take Max away and shoot him. As if that’s not bad enough, he then orders Palmer to, when he’s done with Max, ”kill the kids”. Max’s reaction to hearing this is sheer horror.
• When Gordy nearly takes a bullet for his mother and Max and ends up plummeting over a mountainside balcony railing, presumably to his death . Immediately after this, the reactions of Gordy’s mother and Max are gut wrenching.
