Tear Jerker / Boyhood

• The aftermath of the discovery of Bill's Domestic Abuse and Olivia's divorcing him: Mason and Samantha (and Olivia) wonder what will happen to their stepsiblings; Olivia wants to get them away from Bill but can't because she's not their biological mother. We don't see them again (though that doesn't mean that the characters don't).
• Mason Sr.'s song "Split The Difference" may have an upbeat tone, but its actually a song about a man who deeply missed his kids.
• Olivia's last scene - mainly her frustration and sadness over Mason leaving her alone and her belief that all she has to look forward to now is death.
