  • The opening scene after how great the night of Bea and Ben just talking and enjoying each other's company—and just falling asleep on his couch together—ultimately resulting in the two thinking awful things of each other. Not wanting to wake Ben, Bea impulsively leaves thinking there was nothing wrong with anything that just happened—while also thinking it was perfect—and Ben also thinking it was perfect is sad that she left without saying she was and ends up badmouthing her to Pete in order to save face and not be vulnerable—which Bea unfortunately overhears when she comes back, resulting in her turning around and leaving. That it went so horribly wrong because of circumstances and bad timing and nothing the either actually did wrong just further highlights how sad the whole thing is.
  • After Ben and Bea came home from falling off a boat and sharing a passionate night with each other, everything seemed like it was going okay until Bea casually threw out that she felt like everything she did felt like a mistake, which sent Ben mixed messages once more despite that she never actually regretted sleeping with him. Ben sneaks out of the bedroom as soon as the rest of the wedding group returns over this, leaving Bea to wake up by herself looking completely devastated. Arguably this is worse than their first date together because this time Ben and Bea just had sex, and Ben walking out on Bea over a misinterpretation of what she meant right after immediately gave her the idea he simply just wanted to sleep with her like she initially thought he did, leaving her feeling heartbroken and used the next day.
  • Ben and Bea's fight, with their friends and family watching, along with Bea's parents calling her out for not telling them that she dropped out of law school and accusing her of spiraling her life out of control. This ends with the family dog ruining the wedding cake. Claudia and Halle angrily leave, while Bea gives Ben an angry stare. Bea's father tries to approach her, but she ignores him and storms out as well.
  • The argument between Claudia and Halle. Claudia has had enough of Ben and Bea's antics (with Halle unsuccessfully trying to talk her down) and initially considers not having them around the wedding. You can see the look on Ben's face when he overhears this, he feels guilty and realizes he and Bea screwed up real bad. While he and Bea had their own issues to sort out, albeit in the most immature way, they never meant to cause any harm. This is why Ben requests Bea that they pretend to apologize as to not cause any more trouble. Even though they admit to having staged it to make the couple reconcile, the scene itself was still pretty heartbreaking to watch.
  • The resentful and disappointed look in each other's eyes that Bea and Ben give each other at the wedding, though it makes the Ironic Echo later even better though.
  • Bea tearfully leaving the wedding when she sees Margaret kiss Ben—and it's just seconds before he tells Margaret he doesn't actually want her back too.
    • Margaret is worthy of feeling bad for herself too, as she wanted Ben back like he originally wanted her back, but Ben realized because he's in love with Bea—like Bea is him—and ended up rejecting Margaret because of that ultimately—though Margaret then getting together with Jonathan does help make that better in the end too though.
