A new hero will rise
Kara Danvers, secretly Kara Zor-El and cousin of the world-famous Superman, takes up the mantle of Supergirl to fight dangerous aliens in her city.
- Big Bad: Non. The first few episodes had Astra, but she ended up dying.
- Due to the Dead: Kara, as Astra's relative, is invited to her funeral and allowed to leave after without interference.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Superman's name was conspicuously avoided in the Pilot, but afterwards it was used normally.
- Real Life Writes the Plot: Astra's actress returned to Broadway halfway through filming, necessitating a quick change in Big Bads.
