- Drunken Montage: The main characters frequently awaken from a drug-hazed stupor with only a montage to clue them in to what they did while they were high.
- Macguffin: Cincinatti Harry has some unusual connection to the Big Bad that makes everyone search for him desperately.
- Mad Scientist: Dr. Funtime wants to keep everyone in the show hopped up on drugs the entire time.
- Mystery Cult: The hallucinogenic berries help the Bigron get a following from the residents of Port Cockerton.
- Show Within a Show: The local news. The entire cast was supposed to be creating a family-friendly variety show called The Happy Funtime Hour, but thanks to Dr. Funtime things rapidly get out of hand...
