Draw Slasher is an action-platformer video game created by Mass Creation, published on mobile devices, and later on Steam in 2016. The game sees a ninja named Hanzo facing hordes of Zombie-Pirate-Monkeys. The player's only way to interact with Hanzo is to draw lines on the game screen that determine the ninja's trajectory. Hanzo will slash along those lines, cutting down every zombie-pirate-monkey in the way.

  • Damsel in Distress: At the start of the game, Hanzo discovers that his sister and mother were kidnapped by the pirate zombies. Downplayed in that the pirate zombies have also kidnapped Hanzo's master, and (implicitly) the entire population of a small village.
  • Natural Elements: the player has access to special abilities corresponding to Earth (immobilizes ground enemies), Lightning (one-shots all enemies close to Hanzo), Fire (damages all enemies), and Wind (makes the player invisible to the enemies). Curiously, a fifth special ability is available, linked to the "element" of Fury (attacks deal more damage and ignore armor).
  • Pirates Versus Ninja: Actually, the ninja does not only fight against pirates, he fights against Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot.
  • Brain Food: One room of the zombie pirates' ship looks like a kitchen. I contains barrels full of green brains, more green brains in glass jars, and cooking pots placed on hotplates. Since this kitchen is right next to the hold where the zombie pirates keep their prisoners, the game might try to imply that the zombies eat the brains of the people they kidnap.
  • Ninja: The main character is a ninja, with all the traditional attire of a fictional ninja: black clothing that covers the face, a katana, and elemental ninjustsu powers.
  • Samurai: the Big Bad of the story is designated as the Demon Samurai. He seems to be more demon than samurai, though, given his apparent lack of moral code and his ability to control the zombies. The combination of samurai and demon might make another example of Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot.
  • Speed Blitz:
  • Unexpected Gameplay Change:
  • Sword over Head:
  • The End... Or Is It?

Aesthetics: The game has a soothing and calm, yet mysterious and strange atmosphere. With the exception of Shirone who has human traits, all the characters are cute monsters that look strange but not scary.

Most of the game takes place indoors, in the castle's interiors, which are bathed in various shades of purple, in contrast with the rare outdoors locations that are dominated by more natural colors (green grass, white flowers, blue sky). The two main obstacles are the bottomless pits (colored black) and slimes (green). The castle is inspired by medieval castles, with stone walls covered with tapestries, and lit with torches. Many wooden platforms are used for storing crates or as walkways.

The castle has furniture, bottles, crates, weapons, and documents scattered here and there, as if someone was using them, despite being only populated by amnesiac ghosts and some areas being barricaded. This gives the place an eerie look, reinforced by some details (like the statues of cloaked humanoids with skull-like faces). The music, on the other hand, is always calm and soothing.

The changing layout of the castle, the fact that most NPCs are amnesiac ghosts and don't have much to say, and the fact that NPCs often get separated from Shirone, gives the adventure a sense of loneliness, compensated by the fact that the player regularly and unexpectedly meets friendly NPCsf(both new ones and ones that they ave already seen), giving a sense of comradeship.
