Recap / Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS Ep 55 To The Unknown World

Go To

Playmaker and Soulburner have reached a windswept cliff. Due to some mysterious force, the two of them have arrived to some ruins. As they investigate the ruins, they run into someone unexpected...

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Cassandra Truth: Windy doesn't believe that Bohman and his organisation entered the area beyond the restricted area and created a new world, writing those claims off as speculation until Playmaker and Soulburner can show actual proof. Windy does, however, at least offer to help out the pair with their mission by weakening the Data Storm blocking the way to Bohman's whereabouts.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Playmaker and Soulburner encounter a monstrosity which appears to have been the same one which destroyed the Cyberse World... but it turns out to be a childish prank by the wind Ignis.
  • I Choose to Stay: Windy askes Ai and Flame to help him rebuild Cyberse World. They decline, siting a desire to find out more about the enemy responsible for destroying it.
  • Honor Before Reason: As averse as Ghost Girl initially was to the idea of sacrificing single-use emergency exit programs for a pair of SOL Technologies research members, she relents after she notes Blue Girl's determination to help others when the situation calls for it.
  • Know When to Fold Them: Averse to the idea of sacrificing her single-use emergency exit program, Ghost Girl points out that even as a professional treasure hunter, she knows better than to recklessly pursue something rather than retreat for her own safety.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: In order to secure Windy's help, Playmaker and Soulburner agree to remove Blue Girl and Ghost Girl from the restricted zone.
  • Properly Paranoid: Windy refuses to trust humans, and thus has no desire to find and team up with the human he was modeled after.
