• All or Nothing: Adrian's Wonder Cloud allows him to draw cards equal to the amount Chazz has on the field and the rest of his deck goes to the graveyard. He draws Pot of Avarice, Big Summon Cloud, and Cloudian-Eye of the Typhoon. He activates Big Summon Cloud to summon Eye of the Typhoon (Attack 3000), uses its ability to change Ojama Yellow to attack mode and deplete the rest of Chazz's life points.
• Foil: Chazz and Adrian — whereas Chazz was born the youngest son of a wealthy family, Adrian was the first born adopted son of a wealthy family. Chazz faced hardship after he decided to break free from his family and succeed on his own merits, but Adrian endured his hardships before he was adopted. Each of them considers the other to be the privileged, spoiled version of himself who doesn't know what true hardship is.
• Irony: The duel is basically Chazz and Adrian singing Simple Plan's "Welcome to my Life" at each other, both insisting the other knows nothing about what he's had to endure because the other had everything handed to him. In reality, both of the boys have been through painful experiences, have been under a ton of pressure to live up to their family name and have a lot more in common than they realize.
• Miles Gloriosus: Chazz brags that he single handedly took down the Shadow Riders and Society of Light.
• Rags to Riches: Adrian when he was adopted by the Gecko family.
