- Brilliant, but Lazy: Mr. Stein deconstructs Jaden as this. He points out Jaden is the academy's top student yet his red dorm status is having a negative impact on the other students.
- Broken Pedestal: Mr. Stein valued Alexis for always paying attention in class and not copying Jaden's falling asleep in class routine. When Viper reveals he has her trapped in a room nearly filled with water to get Jaden to surrender, Stein despite thinkingly lowly of Jaden, agrees with him that she has nothing to do with this. Viper shows Stein footage of Alexis ditching his lesson, changing his mind.
- Villain Has a Point: Mr. Stein tells Jaden he's a bad influence on the other students due to his status as the academy's top duelist despite neglecting his studies making them think they coast through life to success. However, Jaden also has a point in that he never asked to be a role model for the other students and copying him was their own decision.
