Yugi's deck is put on display at duel academy. Unfortunately one student decides he needs Yugi's deck if he's ever going to win.
- Ain't Too Proud to Beg: When Jaden, Syrus, Chumley, and Bastion find Crowler in front of the broken display case and Yugi's deck missing, believing he is the thief, Crowler throws himself at their feet, denying he did it while begging them not to report him, even telling them to search him if that will prove it.
- Continuity Nod: Syrus mentions he defeated Dimitri the same way Jaden defeated Crowler in the first episode, by weaponizing Ancient Gear Golem's attack points against the user. Though Syrus used the Magic Cylinder trap card while Jaden used a monster effect.
- Didn't Think This Through: Dimitri complains that no matter whose deck he copies, he always loses. What he fails to realize is that, since those decks aren't his, all he can do is copy their strategies as he's seen them, lacking the innovation that the original owners would probably use to evolve those strategies. This is displayed during his duel with Syrus — since Dimitri used the same exact strategy that Crowler used against Jaden in their duel, Syrus was able to mimic the strategy that Jaden used in order to counter it and win.
- Dude Looks Like a Lady: Two security guards hold a conversation about this regarding Crowler.Guard 1: I didn't know he was a doctor.Guard 2: I didn't know he was a dude.
- Riddle for the Ages: Dimitri fumes that every deck he copied was useless, even Kaiba or Zane's. Since he copies other people's decks, one has to wonder how he managed to copy Kaiba's deck when there are only 3 Blue Eyes White Dragons all in Kaiba's possession.
